Giuseppe Zanotti, Fendi, Gianvito Rossi, & Versace show us how not to wear fur.
If Maria von Trapp from the Movie/Musical the Sound Of Music can recycle old curtains to make the children a new set of clothes, then here is your chance to reuse those old feather dusters you have lying around the house to make a ‘fashionable’ stiletto.
Looking at these 4 heels featured above, I’m trying to find some positivity about them. The Giuseppe Zanotti stiletto’s look quite elegant. Well, the toe of them do, the back looks as if the designer accidently stepped on the family pet hamsters on the way out of the house. The Jersey Caramel inspired Fendi ‘Booties’ are a bit intense and needlessly so.
The Gianvito Rossi Sandals are a bit more refined and tasteful; definitely my pick in the collection. The fur doesn’t dominate the piece, and the gold is a gleamingly good style decision. And if you ever complain of having cold ankles, these are the shoes for you.
Finally comes Versace’s attempt at this new trend. The Red ‘animal accent’ on this shoe is an attempt at edginess. But in earnest it looks quite tacky and brash. Judging from the picture, even the little toe doesn’t like this shoe.
Be guided by the guild.
