The designer of the new Chanel nail ring must have the best scratchproof case on their smart phone ever invented to justify their new fashion trend. The nail ring is worn on your nail, and is a new form of ‘nail art.’

Ever since I was at primary school I had an irrational fear of the Teacher running his or her nails down the chalkboard, so I am very queasy when it comes to nails. This trend has the same effect on me. But I’ll have to wait until I get my hands on one of these pieces before I have my final say. Initially I feel the ring would have to be really tight on the finger so it wouldn’t fall off from such a precarious position, but at the same time, the design could be such that these pieces are quite safe and sit elegantly on the nail.

A common saying amongst people who don’t like to be adventurous is, “if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it.” And while the norms for wearing jewellery would dictate that there is only a certain way to wear a ring, searching for new and inventive styles is the key to progress.

The-Accessories-Guild is willing to put our fears of nails behind us, and give this new idea some time in the light to see if this trend will survive and prosper, or slip off down the drain.
