Working right up until the end..

The design superstar from the Dominican Republic has passed away on the top of his game. Not one for just drifting into the night, de la Renta finished his career with arguably one of his most memorable wedding dresses. Previously, the word ‘wedding’ has been taboo for George Clooney and his long line of eligible bachelorettes, that is, until the talented and gorgeous Amal Alamuddin finally claimed his heart.

For the wedding, there was no one else to turn to but de la Renta. So his final, true, headline-making piece of art, was on this famed couple’s wedding dress.

On his website there is a lot there to look at. There is a touching display of his life works, there are photos from his more recent collections, and there is of course the store where you can pick up the last of the de la Renta collection to bear his name whilst he was active in his company.

And with a youthful smile like the one displayed in the picture above, it is hard to believe he is gone.
